I was very disappointed when I received this. Although the clock itself works fine, the build quality is very poor. I would have expected more from Seiko. The one major build issue is the on-off switch that is on the back. It is loose cheap plastic and looks like it is not going to stand up to daily use.It could have used a more definitive switch to turn the alarm. Also, the buttons for setting the alarm are far from ideal. It functions more like a travel alarm clock than a bedside one. I really can't recommend this.

I had debated for months whether or not to purchase this clock. I had bought a similar clock back in the late 90's and parts of it were finally beginning to fade. Back to this clock, I kept on watching the price and hoping it would drop again like it did once before (but I missed that low price). Well finanlly this past cyber weekend, the price dropped a few dollars and I took the plunge this time on 11/26. It arrived yesterday 11/29 (very quick shipping by Amazon). It was really easy to set up (much easier than the old one was) as long as you follow the instructions, it did take roughly 12 hours to connect to the Atomic Clock. But once it did, it set up everything correctly on the clock (month, day, year, and exact time down to the second). I think the best part that I like about this, is the ability to hit the top of it and the clock lights up momentarily (just like the old one). I will be happy if I get the same amount of years (or more) out of this new one as I did the old one. Amazon sells this at a great price, especially if you check around and see what others are selling it for.

I bought this clock about 6 years ago at Bass Pro. I didn't know until now that it was a Seiko because there's no name on it anywhere. I think this clock is great. I originally bought it because the numbers are large (I'm extremely near-sighted) and the fact that I wouldn't have to change the clock time when the time changed. It has lasted numerous falls off the nightstand, and even though it rattles a little on the inside now it still works. I never have to worry about the time change because this clock has never missed one (I have a La Crosse atomic clock that I have to set in a window and wait for it to change). After all these years the alarm time is getting a little hard to set because it won't 'hold' the time to set without flashing back to the current time. However, if I slide the button back and forth and then back to set it works fine. I would highly recommend this clock.
